As is so often the case with matters of spiritual importance, we can have incomplete and inaccurate understandings legacy. We usually relate it to age in some way. There are "legacy" stores and "legacy" programs. In such cases, legacy is perhaps nothing more than a polite term for old and somewhat irrelevant. Of, we might think of legacy as an older man's concern. While older gentlemen should be concerned with leaving behind a solid legacy, so aught younger men. So, frankly, should every man.
We talk so often about changing the world. Truthfully, that is an ongoing process well within the reach of every dedicated man. Let's talk about that.

Action!. We hear it all the time, and it's certainly true. What we need is less talk and more action! But exactly what action do we need? When it comes to living according to God's call to humanity to be the hands and feet of justice, we know that action is necessary, but which actions will produce the best results? We've all heard the phrase "like a chicken with its head cut off". What does that mean. It's frantic activity without a mind guiding it. We've all done good things in the wrong way and made problems worse. We've all attempted to address serious problems and done harm rather than good.
Words are not a substitute for action. But if we don't have careful and thoughtful conversations about what should be done and how it should be done, our best intentions can yield more than just unexpected consequences. Let's talk about that this week.
